Steps to have a healthy skin - Skin Care Beauty Tips

The largest organ in a human body is the skin. Comes as a surprise – Uh? It is! So, here are the common factors that can cause skin damage. A woman at any age wants to look glamorous and why not? Eye candies are every body's treat, so let's treat them.

Sun: That is where we are under every single day. A lovely day and we want to be out enjoying the beauty Mother Nature gives us. But doctors believe that the sun can damage skin because of the ultraviolet rays. The sun can break down collagen and elastin, the two skin components which keep the skin looking tight and plump. The sun can also affect the melanocytes which could cause patches on the skin, spots or discolouration. So, a good way to enjoy the sun and yet not let it damage your skin is to apply a sunscreen with a strong SPF, which is – sun protection factor – of more than 30, half hour before we step out. Also it will be a good idea to smear one after a bath, make it your daily routine so that an urgent chore that might take you to the shop by a short walk or if you have to hang the clothes out and get chatting with the neighbour all is good, you already have the sun protection on. It is all about getting into the habit. So to make that habit form easily, leave a bottle of sun screen in your bathroom. Just use it as moisturiser and all is good. If you know you are definitely going out, keep a small tube in your purse, another habit you need to cultivate. You can apply it if you are standing in an unexpectedly long queue or you didn't know it was a garden party. So the tube with you will find use on many days. Keep a sun screen lotion handy at all times, you could leave one in the vehicle too.
Smoking:
Smoking is one of the worst things that can happen to your skin. Smoking makes the blood vessels to constrict. The smaller blood vessels that feed the outer skin are also constricted and do not help the skin with the natural replenishments and nutrients from the natural process of the body. Hence the skin is thinner than that of a non-smoking person. Also nicotine has a regressive effect on the elasticity of the skin. That is why, the skin of a smoker looks more wrinkled than the skin of a non-smoker. A lot of women smoke to keep the weight down because smoking reduces appetite and thus helps you lose weight. But the effect of smoking on the skin is so bad a good figure and wrinkled skin, still will not make a pretty picture. There are a lot of things which can be used to reduce and finally kick the habit of smoking. There is Nicotine gum, which experts claim can substitute for nicotine dependency. Then there are inhalers, lozenges, nasal spray, and patches which can all help you quit, along with prescription medications. Please do talk to your doctor about the best option for you.
Free radicals:
What really are free radicals? It is one of the ways the sun damages your skin. The sun produces some harmful substances called free radicals. Free radicals are really unstable oxygen molecules with a single electron. There is a lot of science that goes into that, but what we need to know is that, doctors believe that ultraviolet light from the sun can lead to damaged DNA and skin damage. Free radicals may even play a role in the development of skin cancer. They are also the result of exposure to tobacco products or other factors in the environment like pollution that throws up a lot of carbon in the air. There are some skin-care products, which contain antioxidants such as vitamins C and E to help to lessen the ageing effects that free radicals have on your skin. Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables which contain antioxidants, especially berries, broccoli, carrots, and spinach is also good for healthy skin.
Irritants:
Household products contain chemicals in cleaning products. Even laundry detergent can cause irritation of the skin and allergies in people who are susceptible. Ammonia and bleaches have a tendency to irritate the skin. These chemicals can also cause contact dermatitis which is scaling and irritation, and sometimes even a chemical burn. People with more sensitive skin will naturally experience more skin irritation than others. It is estimated that there are also more than 3,000 substances in our environment that can cause allergies.
The best way to protect your skin from such irritants is to avoid contact which is by wearing gloves when you do household chores like cleaning a stained floor or when you do dishes. There are some companies that are making products which are effective cleaners but do not hurt the skin. Switching to less irritating products is a good idea even if they are more expensive. Also, moisturising your skin can help a great deal. Just to make things easy leave a moisturiser in the kitchen cabinet.
Expressions:
Dermatologists say all our expressions through the years get expressed on our skin. What a revelation! So can we just stick to a straight face and go through a life of no emotions? Of course not! Dermatologists maintain all our laugh lines and frown lines begin to remain on the skin once the skin loses its elasticity. So I guess what we can do is use lotions that improve the elasticity of the skin, fight radicals that make us lose elasticity with a sunprotection cream. Also, we ought to eat nutritive diets, use the vitamin E-oil well.
Quit smoking or stay away from smokers and stop the passive smoking which also takes a toll on the skin. We ought to keep the best company and memories, frown less, and keep those lines away. Let the laugh lines be, they make us happy, speak about our experience of life and the happy days ahead!
